Ben Kirkpatrick

Director, BDK Risk Management

A career built in the world’s toughest financial rooms

Ben’s grounding is in global banking. As a Director at UBS and a Senior Vice President at Citigroup, he spent years in corporate advisory at the highest level, structuring transactions, raising capital and advising boards on decisions where the stakes were measured in millions.

He went on to lead from the front as CEO and Executive Chairman of Waratah Resources Limited, carrying the responsibilities of a listed-company director himself. It is one thing to advise directors under pressure; Ben has sat in the chair, signed the declarations and carried the personal exposure that comes with it.

The principle behind the practice

Directors deserve to understand every option on the table before anyone else makes the decision for them.

Ben Kirkpatrick advising clients in a boardroom

He knows how creditors think, because he has been one

As Company Secretary of MH Family Office, Ben implements strategy across a diverse group of businesses spanning property development, prestige vehicle auctions, corporate advisory, retail and wholesale automotive sales, and, tellingly, asset repossession and debt collection.

That matters for you. Ben has spent years on the creditor’s side of the ledger, so he knows exactly how lenders, liquidators and the ATO assess a distressed business, what they will accept, and what they will reject. When he builds a proposal for your creditors, it is written by someone who has read thousands of them from the other side.
